Hello! I am a personal and engaged licensed psychologist serving adults and couples, and I’m passionate about creating space for the liberation and empowerment of all through authentic expression and connection.
My Approach to Therapy
I believe that everyone deserves to have a space to learn about themself and to be fully authentic. You are deserving of love, care, compassion, and being honored for your unique experiences. I believe you are inherently good enough and deserve to experience true joy. My specialties include trauma-informed, affirming 2SLGBTQIA+ therapy, culturally attuned, and neurodivergent-affirming therapy, specifically for autistic individuals. Therapy with me is focused on how you relate to yourself and others within the specific context of your systemic influences. I’m excited to learn more about you and, through connection, lend space to your healing process.
I am a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania (#PS019990), and I am also able to provide inclusive therapy in 40+ states across the U.S. (PSYPACT APIT #18386). I earned my doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) in Counseling Psychology at Texas Woman’s University and completed my doctoral internship at Carnegie Mellon University Counseling and Psychological Services. Previously, I received a master’s degree in Clinical & Counseling Psychology with a Child & Adolescent focus from Chestnut Hill College and received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bucknell University. At present, I actively work to decolonize my practice of psychology, as well as decolonize my daily living practices in mind and body; I do so to be able to meet you at your most authentic self, and to provide the best and most deeply affirming 2SLGBTQIA+ therapy for neurospicy and BIPOC humans.
I feel honored each time a client chooses to work with me as they grow and heal, and I welcome any wandering soul seeking a space to be seen and heard. I’ve pursued specialized training in several therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT); acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT); somatic therapies such as somatic experiencing and Gestalt approaches; trauma-informed care; systemic approaches; existential approaches; and humanistic and holistic approaches.
My multicultural, feminist training centers on anti-racism and affirming care for 2SLGBTQ+. In my work with clients, I blend all of these therapies together to create an existential, client-centered, relational cultural, trauma-informed, and feminist approach that provides an individualized therapy experience for everyone I have the honor of sitting with.
At Panorama Therapy, I provide inclusive therapy in Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, Colorado, and Ohio as well as any of these PSYPACT states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Washington D.C., Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
2SLGBTQIA+ Therapy
I know through my own personal experiences that counseling offices don’t always feel safe or accessible for queer and trans folks. As a nonbinary, poly, kink-affirming, queer therapist, I am determined to make psychotherapy safe, affirming, and accessible for every human. In therapy for 2SLGBTQIA+ clients across 42 states, I am committed to mutually creating a safe space where you feel connected and empowered, especially considering your intersecting identities.
Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapy
There are so many spaces in our world created to accommodate and cater to neurotypical brains and routines. All too often, counseling offices and other spaces feel unsafe and inaccessible for disabled, neurospicy/neurodivergent, and autistic individuals. As a neurospicy, autistic therapist, I am passionate about creating an affirming, accessible, non-behavioral, and accommodating therapeutic space for every human.
My hope is that you can stop feeling like you have to fit the mold set out for you by allistic individuals, and that you can make a space for yourself in this world, with every ounce of your beautiful brain and quirks expressed.
Get to know Kalila Beehler, Ph.D.
My multicultural, existential, feminist approach is informed by my personal life experiences as a queer, nonbinary, neurospicy soul wandering through the world. I spent the early years of my childhood living in multiple states and experienced a few trips abroad, which left me with persistent wanderlust. I am passionate about learning about all the beautiful cultures and humans who make up our world, and I love to hear about the different values people have constructed their worlds around.
I practice anti-racism and I stand with Black Lives Matter. I condemn genocidal acts and believe that we have a lot of work to do to support all humans in our world and deconstruct capitalistic and colonizer influence. I value diverse identities, upbringings, languages, faiths, traditions, ancestry, and heredity, and I believe they cannot be separated from how we all experience the world. Our diverse experiences inform how we can gain empowerment and create change.
When I am not with clients, you will likely find me tending to the zoo of pets in my household, practicing mindful presence in engaging with nature, crafting, listening to some good music, or moving my body in a way that brings me joy (rowing, rollerblading, playing basketball, etc.). I am truly honored to share space and presence with all of the clients whom I have the privilege to sit with across 42 states nationwide.
Research-based practice
I spent my childhood and young adulthood with a special interest, always curious about the why and the how surrounding human behavior, the brain, the soul, and past life influences. In my Ph.D. process, I deeply explored past research and also pursued my own research endeavors, which inform my daily therapeutic practice.
I seek to understand clients more and more by utilizing research on the impacts of individual experiences on life, heart, mind, and soul comprehensively. I have published peer-reviewed research articles, engaged in committees to increase and affirm diversity and representation, and continue to seek professional engagement in research and education.
I am an in-network provider with BCBS PPO plans, which also include Anthem, Highmark, Horizon, and other Blue Cross Blue Shield plans. I also work with clients using private pay, sliding scale, or out-of-network benefits.
